Despite the fact that Luomo’s music beats to a silicon heart, there is always something tacitly organic about his output – with the icy electronic creases and gliding synths bringing to mind a mist shrouded pine forest… Possibly down to the fact that Finland’s Luomo (aka Vladislav Delay) is a lumberjack when not in the studio, this mental image of suspended nature pervades throughout ‘Paper Tigers’; from the diffused beats and dub-noir of the title track, through to the closing dew shimmer of ‘Make Believe’.

An example of those records that one discovers in a particular place and forever stick to that memories. Driving around Senja and the Tromsø fjords with this in the background was probably one of the best experiences I've had in winter time Northern Norway.
Evocative, perfect vocal samples. A timeless classic. Every time I listen to it I change my favourite track. Rubén
It really looks like the cover photo is of a specific area in Hampi India. Hampi is a wonderful and magical area and whether the photo is actually of that or not, the subtle Indian-vocals that anchor the morning side capture the ancient magic.
I look forward to returning to India and listening to this, tea in hand as I sit at the base of an ancient Shiva temple. All this is full, all that is full, from fullness fullness comes. when fullness is taken from fullness, fullness still remains. ❤️ David Miller
